Friendships fade
People die
Love is lost
Our dreams are crushed
And ground up like dust

Happiness goes away
And it seems like

When hope is put out like a candle
And we have hopelessly lost our way

That is when we find
Life’s greatest meaning
When we fail is when
We succeed
For we see something greater
Not in just ourselves
But in others
There is a fire deep inside
That when someone is hurting
We cannot hide

When we give
That is when love and life’s meaning
Is pure and true
But the bottom line
Is that Jesus died
For me and for you
So let go of all your hate
And your pride

For the greatest gift of all
Is not selfish pride
But love
