Hearts get broken
Plans come undone
Dreams are shattered
Left to dry in the sun

People turn cruel
Names are forgotten
Friendships torn apart
This once beautiful life you knew
Has become so unfulfilled

Under the shadow of your wings
I’m finally free
All my fears are relieved
In your overwhelming presence
This broken heart, renewed
By your unfailing love
And once again I have found
My purpose, lord in you

Where can you turn too
From the pain of searing loss
When everything seemed so right
And you thought you knew
How things were going to turn out
Then life takes a twist
And you lose the one you love
The once beautiful life you knew
Has become so unfulfilled

Under the shadow of your wings

So many times I’ve tried to hide
As the fire dies inside
I can’t get rid of this deep hurt within
Running blindly in the dark
I feel so far away from you
I have been traveling
This broken road for so long
No end in sight
The tears fall in the night

Okay so I know awhile ago I wrote a poem under the same title, but I really like this title so I'm using it again. I wrote this late one night, I combined two poems together and I think it came out pretty well. I hope the meaning is obvious lol.

this is incredibly touching the first two stanzas (i think thats what they're call?) spoke immense volumes.
